Responsible pet ownership:

To protect people and pets in Denver please license your pet and keep your pet on a leash. Denver's leash law and pet licensing law are intended to protect the health and safety of both the people and pets.

The shelter is home to more than 100 lost and adoptable dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, reptiles and other small animals. Stop by and see our wonderful pets!

New Shelter Coming Soon!

Opening in 2011 !

On Feb. 11, 2010, City officials broke ground on the new Denver Animal Shelter.

Soon to be located at 1241 W. Bayaud Ave. along the I-25 corridor adjacent to the Platte River, the new shelter site offers better visibility, a larger lot and better access off the Platte River trail.
