Why Become a Volunteer?

Make a difference:

Your time and effort will help make the Denver Municipal Animal Shelter the best it can be for the animals.

Increase social awareness:

By volunteering with the Denver Municipal Animal Shelter team, you'll stay in touch with your community, its needs and issues as they relate to the humane treatment of animals.

Feel better mentally and physically:
People who volunteer have been known to be happier, healthier, have a purpose and a greater sense of self-satisfaction.  Volunteering with animals can even lower your stress level, heighten your immune system and help you sleep better at night.

Build your resume and gain real-life experience

Employers, high schools and universities highly value volunteerism.

Expand your social circle:

As a volunteer with our team, you give part of yourself - your time , energy, skills and feelings.  Volunteering at the Denver Municipal Animal Shelter is a great way to give to the animals and your community.
